Each year, HAWDC, through its 501(C)3, the Washington Hospitality Foundation, awards scholarships to students seeking degrees in the hospitality field. The Washington Hospitality Foundation (WHF) is dedicated to fostering the next generation of hospitality leaders. WHF proudly offers scholarships to college-bound students in the District’s NAF Hospitality and Tourism Academies, as well as hospitality professionals seeking to advance their careers with a hospitality degree. We are actively seeking applicants who exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.

We work diligently to expose young District residents to the exciting fields of study and career opportunities in the hospitality industry. Awarding these scholarships is just one of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to their future academic and career success.

The HAWDC Chairman’s Award for Leadership is presented in recognition of the outstanding achievements of students engaged in hospitality studies. These prestigious scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, a demonstrated interest in the hospitality field, leadership skills, and active involvement in extracurricular activities, encompassing a broad spectrum of promising future hospitality leaders.
