Through well established and continuous development of strong relationships with decision makers in the District of Columbia including the Mayor, District Council, Metropolitan Police Department, Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, District Department of Transportation, District of Columbia Taxicab Commission, District Department of the Environment, Department of Health, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration and more; HAWDC works to promote the interests of our hotels. HAWDC seeks to consistently inform decision makers about the monetary, social, and employment contributions of our industry to our city.

From parking enforcement to licensing and permit inspections; HAWDC works on behalf of our individual member hotels to coordinate with District government agencies to enhance and expedite various government functions that impact our members’ ability to operate effectively.
